Is this a question or a statement? Sounds more like a statement to me.

Since you are talking about the digitizer and the which one Apple is using, no. The iPhone 5s uses the same In-Cell Touch Screen as the 5. I have used both phones personally, and I actually feel the touch screen on my 5s is better then on my old 5.

Incorrect. 5s is 10% brighter at all slider levels. I HATE HATE HATE the brighter screen because a lot of my phone use is on the car dash at night. I use my 5 at night and my 5s stays home.
No. YOUR 5S screen might be brighter, but not every 5/5S screen is the same. There is a lot of variation beween screens. The next 5S might be a bit dimmer than your 5.

Incorrect. Apple specifically touted that the iPhone 5s screen was 10% brighter. I have both phones and many of my friends have one or the other. Put any 5s against any 5 or 5c and the 5s is always brighter and the difference is plainly obvious.

That is not true. Please provide a source for this.

The screen is always identical, but the backlight causes very noticeable differences in appearance.

It is really hard to select LED backlights that provide the exact colour temperature and intensity. You also have to keep in mind that LED's cannot really be dimmed properly. They are pulsed to always use the same current.

(Yes, you can control the brightness of LED's by changing the voltage, but this is not happening in small devices. Pulsating LED's is easier, you only need constant voltage).

Ok I guess you're right and I'm wrong, sorry. I was quite sure I read that shortly after the 5s was released but I can't find anything corroborating that. In fact I've seen now several comparisons showing the opposite, where the 5s is dimmer than the 5. I guess my 5s and my friends' 5s are exceptionally bright- we all got them around the same time maybe Apple had a batch of very bright LEDs in the parts bin then.

Since 7.1 the screen on my i5 has been MUCH brighter. The auto brightness has different algorithms now and it took me a while to adjust. I still prefer my screen how it used to be as opposed to how it is now.

I've owned a 5 and now a 5S, and the wife has a 5C.
I don't see any difference in the 5 series displays.

They all use the same size screen, but have different plugs. The 5s screen does have a better display than the 5 and 5c.

I repair iPhone 5's and 5S's and I know for sure that they 5S is not the same as the 5.

They both are retina, so the only thing that is generally the same is the LCD.

The ribbon cable layout, the fingerprint sensor hookup, ect.

Speaking from experience here...

Here is a pic of said plugs. 5s left, 5c middle, and 5 on right.
