The 5 k monitors have all but disappeared!

There were a few offerings, one by Philips, and another 5 k by Dell, and a couple others. They're discontinued.

Here's a good thread on why they disappeared. Basically:
  • Little market for high high end monitors.
  • 5 k monitors aren't amendable to gaming, since it's hard to get that output with how much data is coming through from the computer.
  • 4 k is more the standard for TVs, so this is a more natural fit manufacturing wise.
  • Lack of economies of scale making special 5 K panels for computer monitors.
Where does that leave us? I have a 2017 Touchbar MacBook Pro. I am looking at the LG 5 K Ultrafine. But am trying to see what the most updated stuff is out there. It's weak.

LG's latest (doesn't have enough PPI though).
