Hello

I have 3 mac mini's and 2 iMacs all being used at the same time and I need an external drive to act as the main directory for all working files. It will need to be in Raid 1 configuration so I am wondering what my best options are for the network.

Should I just get a decent external HD (Raid 1) and connect to the iMac via TB and let the others access it through that or is there a better way?

Any advice on what external HD I should get as preferably I would like to easily replace one of the discs in the Raid 1 configuration should one go down.

Thanks

There's the NAS route, but you just have to be careful cause every now and then it invalidates the backup of time machine.

If all your machine's are on gigabit ethernet it'll be plenty fast.
