I am greeted with a lovely 4 hours of battery life. As you can see, I am using pretty much 0 processor power. Slightly disapointing, but I am guessing this is just due to indexing. Can someone confirm this?

I would wait a few days to get the battery 'up to speed'.
Unless its essential try using Safari rather than Chrome (despite CR results) for initial testing.

It doesn't take very long to generate a spotlight index on an SSD for a brand new system (ie: spotlight energy impact in your screenshot is 0.0%.)

Interesting -- I plugged mine in today when I first got it, let it fully charge while I worked installing software, and let it do whatever housekeeping tasks it needed. In response to this post, I disconnected my disk and blu-ray player and checked the battery life via activity monitor -- its saying about 11:30. As far as I can tell, nothing seems amiss and I am just loving this machine. So much faster and nicer than my Late 2008 MBP. Just waiting for the 5k monitor. However, TM is encrypting my backup, so I am going to reconnect it.
