Assuming the leaks are true, we are getting an iPhone 7 sized device from Apple this fall with a 5.8" screen.

I'm cool with that but I'd also be interested in an iPhone SE sized device with a 5" screen.

I know many others would like an iPhone 7 Plus sized device with a 6.6" screen.

Curious what you all feel.

6.6 iPhone would be rather large for me. I currently have the 7 Plus and have owned every other model iPhone. I have no issue with a 5.8 iPhone. I adjusted overall to the size of the Plus and now I could never go back to anything smaller.

The appreciations I have with a larger display and makes my worth while is the 1080 P display, larger battery and it just makes the viewing experience that much better for reading E-mails, other media and I actually appreciate the landscape feature on the iPhone Plus model as well.

Might be misunderstanding the poll choices, but I believe your screen sizes are wrong. Below is correct:

iPhone 5/5S/SE: 4"
iPhone 6/6S/7: 4.7"
iPhone 6+/6S+/7+: 5.5"

Long-term, we'll probably see two iPhones with the chassis size of the 6/6S/7 and 6+/6S+/7+, but with longer screens due to no home button and smaller bezels.

The OP is talking about fitting larger screens into the existing body sizes through a lack of bezels and asking for preferences.

Mine is the first option - 7 footprint with a 5.8" screen - which is near enough what's rumoured for the iPhone X (just slightly larger in the body).

So no iPhone 8 then? This iPhone 7S (5.8), 7S Plus (6.6) also makes sense. I guess Apple is debuting the 6.6 size screen in the iPhone 7S Plus as their anniversary iPhone, and redesigning it for 2018.
I feel confident we will see an iPhone 7 Plus footprint with a roughly 6.6" screen in 2019. Hopefully a 5" iPhone with an SE footprint that year too.

Based on the "premium" features this new iPhone seems to have, it will probably still be accompanied by the 7S and 7S+ to keep an attractive price point for consumers.

I'd agree with others in that the new iPhone features (touchID under screen, no bezels, etc.) will find their way into the "regular" line up the year after, so probably 2018. But maybe they'll surprise us, especially in light of competition from the S8.

I wanted to buy the iPhone 8 in September but after the iPhone 6 I want to go back to a smaller phone. I hope that next year Apple releases an iPhone 8 4.7" no bezels, which will be more or less as the size of the iPhone SE. I also hope in a flush camera since it definitely would not have the dual camera.

I like the size of the 7 fitted with around 5.2 screen. While the borderless screen looks good, but it may get used to hold bcs our hands/ fingers would have more contact with the screen thus create unwanted results. At the end of the day, i would welcome the new oled with around a 5.2 screen. A 6.6 is way to big and you will loose privacy when using in crowded places.

5, 5s, 5se are perfect sized. I have small hands and only one hand type. I like pockets, I am really surprised to find out majority of people want these large tablet sized phones. I just text, music, browse email and safari occasional. I use it as much as anyone else but when im not using it, i cant fathom carrying around a brick.

Apple has been very conservative with its new design releases after the iPhone 4. I originally thought there would be an iPhone 8, but after coming across this thread, I can almost see Apple, making this 6.6 form factor similar in design to the 7S and 7S Plus, but bezel-free, along with the list of rumored features. I don't see there to be a redesign, unless you consider a bezel-free iPhone 7 a re-design.

Agree, won't be a chassis redesign at all. In that manner it will indeed be a 6SS-S design lol. They will be redoing the face though, and since most people really just want the massive bezels shrunk.
