well, i used migration assistant to transfer some files, and then moved all my tv shows and music Via firewire.

Heres the problem. My iMac has 20 GBs on the hard drive.
after i moved all my stuff to my macbook pro it has 50 GBs used already! what did i do? what can i do to get the space back?

You could uninstall the pre-installed apps you don't want. I did this with iCal, Mail, and Office 2004 trial.

would that really give me 30 GBs of storage back?
the thing is i had those installed on my imac also, so im just wondering where all that space WENT?

Edit:
turns out i had my video collection on two spots, so i deleted the first one.
that brought it down to 44 GB's but thats still way to much in my opinion?

You could try WhatSize to pinpoint what's taking up all those gigabytes.

Also, you don't happen to be using FileVault, do you?
