Hi guys. Just was browsing the forums and noticed people have reputations now listed under their name? Is this something to do with people with tars' or just another Demi-Ultra-Secret-Forum thing again? I couldn't find any threads on it.:eek:

Kevin

Well, when in doubt, check the FAQ. Here's a breakdown of the titles.

User titles are based on post counts:

Newbie => 0 - 29 posts
Member => 30 posts
Regular => 100 posts (minimum required to post in certain forums)
6502 => 500 posts (minimum required to have an avatar)
65816 => 1000 posts
65832 => 1500 posts
68000 => 1505 posts
68010 => 2000 posts
68020 => 2005 posts
68030 => 2500 posts
68040 => 3000 posts
601 => 5000 posts
etc....
Demi-Goddess, Demi-God or Contributor => Member who has contributed to the site and has chosen to use one of those three titles.
(Moderator) suffix => Member who is also a moderator
macrumors god => administrator

I see I was wrong about the Avatar, I wonder if that has changed since I joined up?

500 posts for a tar... :confused:

Must be something I missed, maybe if I keep posting I can get a tar and a reputation.

Hopefully not at a green frog. :eek:

I have recently passed 500 posts and was allowed an avatar. One thing that confuses me though is the seemingly random numbers for various reputations. :confused: Anyone care to explain?

If you read the FAQs or even this thread you would know what they are for! I don't know whether to :D or:(

I think stuartluff means the 'repuataion x.x' under some posters names, we all know about trhe avatar thing, if u have past 500 post on macrumors, you are guaranteed to come across aboiut 3.2 threads about avatarship. It gets tedious, but the joy of macrumors defeats the annoyance;)

I know what they are for you muppet :p I mean what do the numbers stand for?

68020 whats all that about? Why doesnt it just say 2005 posts?

They are sequentially numbered processors used in Macintosh computers, going from oldest (6502) to newest (604), although madjew might be reaching a level unanticipated at inception...

An interesting tip. Download the Avatar of anyone with a reputation and look at it offline.

Notice anything?

yeah, I got myself some reputation.

Look on the bright side Sdashiki, you are so close to 7.0

I was wondering about those reputation numbers as well. I only started noticing it in the last day or 2.

Ah sorry 'bout that :eek: , anyhow i'm pretty sure the reputation scores are another Demi-God thing since they are actually part of the avatar not underneath. ;)

Reputation, reputation, reputation! O, I have lost
my reputation! I have lost the immortal part of
myself, and what remains is bestial. My reputation,
Iago, my reputation!
