I am thinking about getting a larger capacity drive for my 2010 13" MBP. suggestions on brands? notes on which ones to avoid, perhaps?

I'd say 750 if you want a larger capacity hard drive. You should consider 1TB (I'm not too sure if it fits on your Mac)

Regrading to the brand, WD or Seagate would be good :)

I had a Seagate 750GB Momentus, but replaced it with a 500GB Momentus XT to gain the advantage of the small SSD as my MacBook Pro 13 is my secondary machine so I tend to do the same tasks on it. Both were solid.

I've also had good luck with Western Digital's Scorpio Blue line.

make sure that you go with 7200 RPM, though, whatever you do end up getting xD

(well, cept maybe the 1TB, not sure if they make 7200 RPM laptop drives that big yet...)

thanks all. i've had good experiences with replacement Seagate drives for my lappys but ihavent used the WD yet. any impressions on vibration/noise issues with the 7200 750GB drives from those of y'all that have had experience with such drives?
