Hey

I've tried posting photos into the monthly photo thread from 500px using a normal link - http://500px.com/photo/27605189 - but MR doesn't accept it.

Any idea why?

Because that's a link to the page the image is on rather than the image itself. The best way to do this is hit the "Embed" button beside your photograph. Now, that spits out HTML intead of BBCode so you can't paste it in directly. 500px doesn't seem interested in making this easy and implementing BBCode, likely to discourage forum embedding and the related server load.

From that code, pull out the SRC URL and use that.

Here's your image:

If you increase the number at the end to 4.jpg or 5.jpg you should be able to grab a larger size:

Been trying to do it from IPad, so can't embed from there......back to the iMac to sort it!

Also, generally keep in mind that when you're linking directly to an image, the link should end with .jpg, or whatever file type it may be.
