Ok i have been searching for a converter that will change some of my wma's to mp3's. Is there anyone who can help?

postdrop: warning: unable to look up public/pickup: No such file or directory
what do I do about that

FYI, you shouldn't convert WMA to MP3. Converting a lossy format into another lossy format will result in a pretty crappy file in the end. You're much better off re-ripping from the source if possible.

I haven't tried this, but...

If you install Flip4Mac, QuickTime should then be able to read .WMA files.

Using QuickTime Pro, MPEG Streamclip, etc. you can convert them to a .MP3

However, I agree with rWally; lossy=>lossy is a bad idea, and re-ripping is going to leave you much happier with the quality in the long run.

My friend burnt me a CD of all .wma files.

Am I correct in assuming macs can't play wma files? I tried to import it to iTunes and nothing happened. Just got a bunch of coding when I clicked on the regular file on the CD.

Is there a completely free way to get these songs on my iPod? Also the CD wont work in my stereo either. I would rather not lose any quality. Oh and I have a windows computer I can use if needed, but I'm not sure how to use my iPod with that computer.

Thanks in advance for any help. :)

Microsoft has a "plug-in" for Quicktime that will allow QT to read WMA files. Then if you have Apple's QT Pro you can edit and save files in any supported format.

I figure if you want the use WMA on the Mac you may as well get the software from Microsoft. They have a free version and a few paid versions too.

Got em both and they still don't work, get the message "The application attempted to use an unsupported feature"

Hi! Thanks for the responses. I ended up using "Switch" which was easy, free, and fast. It was only the trial version, which has expired by now, but it worked for my CD.

Switch is the program i just picked up...and its free...works great

hey does anyone know of a program that will just convert my whole music folder on my external and replace the .wma format for .mp3?

Switch, in the past I converted my music collection from WMA to MP3 so it'd play on my first iPod. It was a while ago but I remember it being a very good application.
