This info is UK based but probably be released earlier in USA

Also this info could be a load of balony but here goes...

Walked into UK carphone warehouse to be greeted by senior sales assistant he told me that they have been talking to Apple about future iPhone releases and the spec and conversation goes as follows:

50gb iPhone -
Release date Summer 09 (UK)
3 Megapixel Camera
3G
Still no HSDPA.

No other iPhone updates till then.

Take it or leave it... Please comment
 
I know I haven't had a math class in quite a long time, but if I remember correctly, 50 isn't a power of 2, which is what flash memory comes in.

And no update until summer '09? Highly unlikely.
 
U r correct but because of capacity doubling but dont rule anything out, and also dont shoot the messenger. just relaying info.

a) You're completely clueless and making this up.
b) The sales assistant is completely clueless and spouting nonsense.

50GB is quite simply not on the cards, flash memory doesn't work like that. Rendering your other "information" useless.

yep... 50gb is false. it doubles each time, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256 (the same way RAM increased in size)

also its very unlikely anyone outside of apple will know any info about future versions until days or maybe weeks (if they're lucky) before its release

Well apart from that one drive that comes in a 48GB size, but yes, this is completely false.

As has been examined and explained time and time again, Apple is a very secretive company, they don't tell their own stores when new products are coming out, so why would they tell a third-party reseller in the UK ?
 
On the update front, remember Apple held out on us nearly 2 years for a proper update on the 5g iPod.
 
Plus, we've heard both Steve Jobs AND the AT&T CEO mention that 3G phones are coming in 2008.

As secretive as Apple is about details, it seems unlikely that they'd let that information out if they weren't certain it would happen. So the 'no updates until 2009' is very unlikely as well.
 
Right, 50GB when the size doubles for flash. 8->16->32->64->128. Simply put there will never be a 50GB but there can always be a 64GB.
