6 AM. If there is not a line, I will leave, eat breakfast, and come back at 7 AM. If there is a line, I will stay to guarantee that I get my iPhones.
EDIT: I'll be at an AT&T store. Much closer, and not as busy if you get there early.

If I were getting one, I would come around 10 so that anyone who waited on line would be gone and I could just walk in and snag one. Anyone who waits in line for more than an hour is not very bright.

I will await my iPhone 3G being delivered by courier. Usually they get to me before noon :)

Great idea and I will be following suit as well

Debating between going to AT&T Store and Apple Store

I have AT&T store two blocks from home and I have Apple Store in the mall about 3 blocks from me. I am working Friday, so I can only be there early in the morning. I am just curious if my chances to grab one of these faster is at ATT store or at the Apple store.

If any of you guys are going to the AT&T store in Oakland, CA on Friday I will see you guys in line. You'll see me walking around with a 3G iPhone giving product demonstrations and letting groups in. I have told people to come by around 6am and check for lines. There have been plenty of people asking about lines and coming in for eligibility checks.

Absolutic: If you are a new AT&T customer or a current iphone, AT&T and Apple Stores will be about the same. If you are a current AT&T customer with eligibility concerns or problems AT&T Stores will be able to help you out the best. Corporate, and any other specialty plans should be setup at AT&T Stores.

I will be a new AT&T customer porting from Sprint, and I do work for the government so I will need to get the FAN discount. I will print the page from Premier AT&T site which lists FAN numbers at the bottom. Can AT&T store reps accomplish everything I need quick? I read on Apple Insider that Apple stores (per Apple retail chief) will be able to accommodate 100 customers an hour (in 30-customer-increments). That is quick, I am just concerned whether my local AT&T store has similar capacity
