o2 not doing suspended credit checks as from today- stock worries.

Local manager told me that o2 are worrying that if they let us sign up early, they won't have enough stock to meet demand.

Apparently it was circulated to all stores this morning.

But it's not as if the credit check guarantees an iPhone on the day so how does it effect stock?
