MacBook Heat Issues

Hi, as a new member to the MacRumors site i thought id start off with a bang,
My BlackBook is having some heat issues were the processor is heating up to around 89°C (192°F) While not doing much at all.

So..... I googled abit and found out that apple has problems with putting heatsink paste on properly, so im gonna do it again better.

Er.... My MacBook stays at about 86 C max! It seems to stick there!

Do post the results and be careful! Also, I hope you know that this'll void your MB's warranty!

How do you get the temp up there? And my white MacBook only seems to get really hot when I get on Windows Vista / FFXI but only if I sit on a bed and play since the covers hold the heat there. Otherwise my MacBook doesn't get too hot.

What's running in your process list when you have these high temperatures?

My MacBook has gotten up in these ranges before, but I was either watching an online video, playing a game, ripping a DVD or Spotlight was re-indexing...

I replaced the thermal paste on my first machine and it didn't improve anything; current one doesn't overheat either...

why don't you just get a chill pad? That should help keep your MB more Ventilated.

I've had many a thing like a chill pad but the issues with the MB are that is has no ventilation on the bottom casing and the vents and the back are purely for air coming out. so you cant get cool air in the computer to circulate.

i will admit that i was pushing my MB a bit but it should be fine, My mate was doing exactly the same things as me on his MBP and the max he got to was 69°c.

Going to do it today will have photo's up by this sarvo

Its generally when Im running 'secure delete' or encoding (which I often do). The mds (spotlight indexing process) runs only at 50-60% so it doesnt go to that extent!

I did the fix but didnt take any pics.
Runs much Cooler (lots cooler) so in all im very happy

Tried running some CPU intensive apps? Encode something... through iTunes maybe!

I ran it at max capabilitie the second bar in the photo it cpu and the third one along is RAM
