My 540c, which worked perfectly as of a month ago, suddenly won't power on. I have had issues in the past with a flaky power connection, but it seems to be totally dead now. I'm not sure if it's the power supply in the computer or the 16v adapter that failed. The adapter has 4 pins on it, and I tried testing every combination I could think of but got 0 voltage. Does anyone have a wiring diagram or know what each pin is supposed to do so I can test it with a different power supply? Couldn't find it, not in the service manual.

Holy moly, does it still have a 68k cpu, or is it upgraded to the 603e?

I can't help with the voltages, sorry.

In addition to @dmr727 ’s suggestion, you may want to try posting this in the Apple Collectors forum.

Also, you might try to ask the MR forum moderators about where the best audience might be to get a useful response to this question. Good luck!
