Just installed iTunes 8, and I gotta say that Genius is an idiot. I'm going to roll off the names of a couple artists (and yeah, you might not recognize them):
1) Ivri Lider
2) Rita (the Israeli singer, not the Japanese one)
3) John Williams
4) Sivan Shavit
5) Infected Mushroom (a few songs, for some songs Genius works).
6) Martin O'Donnell
Yeah 4 of them are Israeli (whaddaya want, Israeli music ROCKS) but John Williams at least should turn something up when I start the Star Wars main title OR any of my music from Revenge of the Sith. Music from Halo? Nope. Not even the title song "Halo" - should be a dead giveaway. It's not like iTunes doesn't know what album I'm referencing since it can pull the album art off the internet (oh and my other qualm with iTunes? It still can't find an album art for Revenge of the Sith. Album views are utter crap when iTunes can't find album art for half your library).
Anyone else have similar woes and wishes to vent? To it's credit Genius works pretty well when it works, and if your library is filled with stuff you can find at Walmart then it's a nice feature. But for those people who have to spend $20 + shipping to get a CD imported it rather fails.
