What about the earpiece speaker (during phone calls)? I always use my bluetooth headset when at home, but occasionally I get a call in a loud restaurant and I've always had trouble hearing the caller. Just wondering if that was improved as well?
 
So it appears that an overwhelming majority of people feel that their speaker's maximum volume is louder after the update. That's good to know. Fewer missed calls. :)
 
Mine is louder and I noticed it right away.

The click noise it makes when you lock it is significantly louder.
 
It almost feels like the update from a few years ago that caused MBs, MBPs and iMacs to receive a huge bump in maximum speaker volume. Huzzah!

The only problem is that after a while, we'll get used to it and then be all "Ah man! The speaker on this thing is SO QUIET! Apple! Do something!"
 
Seems the same really!

And to those saying the speaker on the right still doesnt work.. it's meant for a different reason.

And to the person saying the earpiece is still very quiet... all you have to do is turn it up when in call. If it's still quiet then it's probably the other persons phone.
 
I think it's gotten louder. Although I'm not 100% sure. I know it hasn't gotten softer though lol.
 
i first upgraded mine and it got a lot softer, enough for me to be angry.
and then i did a clean restore and its back to the volume it was previously
