I'm sorry, I know just because its the nvidia brand doesnt mean it will be defective again.. but thats how I perceive Nvidia from now on and I dont want another "surprise" and find out the new mbps will have a defective card later down the road either.

I hope it will utilize an ati card...

the grass is not always greener on the other side. I would say, if the new macbook pro uses the Nvidia 8600GT again, then no sale !

I Dont Care, aslong as its got a GPU, nVidia are a strong brand, and my GPU is fine, and why would they not stop the fault?

Some reaaal idiots here.

Will you ever give up on this subject? It seems you will never be happy with any computer. You went from a Mac Pro to a MB, to a MBP, to a Mac Pro, back to a MB all in less than a year. You tried every processor speed, plus both sizes in the MBP, and were not happy with any of them. It won't matter what chip they put in them, I am sure you will find something wrong with it.

Assuming he ever owned any of them at all. OP, get a Dell and complain there or get a Mac and shut up about it. There are always problems. Name one perfect product. Just one product, and I will concede my point.

Fastest != Best

The cards need to do well under the stress the heat causes.
The cards need to be well designed and constructed.
The cards need to have good and appropriate drivers.
The cards' heat to performance ration needs to be good.

All these things are important and differ from company to company.

Absolutely, Nvidia sounds like a really company to me with their insider trading charges every couple of years, faulty products etc. ATI seems like the way to go. I think the problem is Apple's relationship with Intel is keeping them from using more AMD\ATI products.
