Anyone know what the NEW MBP gets on Vista Experience Index? Both low/high end ones.

I was wondering if anyone here who put Vista through bootcamp tried to run the vista experience index can post the results here!

I'm just curious to see how it compares to the older MBP, and some other things.

Late 08 MBP, Stock 2.53 model:

Overall: 5.2
Memory: 5.9
Graphics: 5.9
Gaming Graphics: 5.5
HDD: 5.2

I'm using Vista 32 however, so it's only seeing 3 gigs of ram instead of 4.

what about CPU score? and for others, anybody tried vista with 2.53Ghz model and 320GB 7200 RPM HDD?
 
Cool. Anyone know what the scores are for the 2.4GHz and 2GB Model.

Also the person running 32-bit, you already got a 'perfect' 5.9 for your memory, so that doesn't make a difference. Also the service pack 1 for Vista already made the OS capable of "seeing" the full 4gb of ram, it simply cannot "use" it...I've also read that for the experience index, the program rates according to what it can "see" not perse "use"!!

anyway, any stats for the 2.4 ghz model?
 
I have vista 64bit running on my new MBP 2.53 GHz with the 9600M GT with 512 internal ram and the score index says my graphics card and gaming card are both 1 🙁 lol. I guess Vista 64bit is just too pro for my measly 9600M GT.

It said 1 for my lenovo before I actually ran the test...I was surprised at the score until I realized I had to actually run the whole entire test manually to get the real score...then again the first page stayed at 1 until I rebooted a couple of days later. The results page showed stuff in the 4s and 5s...so try running the test manually if you haven't.
 
i got 5.3 for overall score i can't remember the rest though. this was on vista ultimate 32bit ( i will upgrade to vista 64bit soon though)
 
For the base 2.4Ghz model, 2GB RAM, 250GB HDD, etc. in Vista 64-bit:

Windows Experience Index: 5.3

Processor: 5.3
Memory (RAM): 5.9
Graphics: 5.9
Gaming graphics: 5.5
Primary hard disk: 5.3

I would have done a screenshot but I'm not really sure how to do a Print Screen on a Mac's keyboard with Boot Camp drivers. Anyone care to enlighten me?
 
let's get serious...how good can the experience really be with v....v who shall not be named?

so, lol, wait....lmao....the high end model gets a LOWER score in the vista experience than the low end model?!?!?!?!?!??!?!? that's straight up DUMB!!!

Hi all

I have an overall 5.1 with my 2.4 MBP
Running 2GB ram

I'm only using Vista 32bit for gaming. I'm thinking of re-installing XP instead

I hate vista

What do you hate about it? If it's just for gaming, I'd keep it around at least for directX10. Also the 2% performance increase XP would give you really wouldn't be noticeable.

just realized something: the amount of hdd you dedicated to your partition size also dictates your score, because it seems as if the hdd is what determines the score in most cases (since its lower than the 2nd lowest score of processor: 5.3/5.4), so therefore for people who dedicated like 10-20 gigs, will see less of a score, than people who dedicated like 100 gigs...right?

so I bet the guy above who got a 5.1, got a 5.1 lowest subscore in the hdd section!

Your score is as low as the lowest component score... So, if you have a slow hard drive, you'll slow down your PC. Like I posted earlier - I have a 7200 speed drive in my Merom MBP and get a 5.9 on the hard disk perf.

Ok... this is wacky... why would the 2.53 with it's higher clock speed and double the L2 cache get a lower CPU score than the 2.4?

Another interesting thing is that these matched on gaming graphics, you'd think the 2.53 would have beat the 2.4 there.

While I wouldn't consider Vista's built in benchmarks as the end all, be all, maybe there is some truth to the theory that the extra VRAM in the 2.53 model doesn't do much. It would be great to see some real benchmarks comparing these two models!
