Have a brand new Macbook 2.4ghz. I have it sitting on my desk connected to a Samsung 22" monitor using the mini display out to dvi. When I click the mouse to wake the computer, sometimes (not always) the monitor shows all static. Does anyone see any reason this would be a problem with the Mac?

Thanks!

I'm having the same problem too! You're not alone.

Mine does it whenever the display goes to sleep - not necessarily the whole computer.

I have had it several times after the display goes to sleep as well. The static is not as bad as when the computer comes out of full sleep mode. Is anybody else having this issue or know why this is happening?

I contacted apple. They had 2 recommendations.

1 - make a new user account and see if the problem persists (this clearly seems like a waste of time)

2 - go to the genius bar and let them troubleshoot it.

im not too excited about either. i think ill wait and see if the problem escalates for other people as well.
