I know this happened before in the old Macbook Pros by the look of things when I searched around.

Basically there is a noticeable high pitched whine when the screen brightness is either not completely off or max.

Some people reported they fixed it using http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1442

But since the new Macbooks have the 9400M, is there a similar fix?

Any of you have this problem too in XP? What about Vista?

yes i have this problem , and maybe all have this problem with macbook alu and pro

eye.surgeon if you put the brightness at 50% dont do any noise in windows? you have a macbook alu??
pleaseee tell me

I have this problem too, and Im using Vista 64 bit, I used to have Windows 7 64 bits and XP 32 bit before this, but i didnt use them enough to notice a pitch so i cant say that i didnt have such issue at the time.

Also, keep in mind that some people will be unable to listen to high pitch sounds given frequency and eardrum sensitivity that decreases with age and other factors.

But i can confirm that i do have a pitch in my vista business 64 installation on my aluminum macbook.
