I'd camp out for that.
I wouldn't for a new iPhone release. but for a free $500 (if i'm in the market for a new macbook)...I would.
Tonnes of heat packets and hot chocolate and soup...lol Kelowna...

This is an incredible deal. Altho it's not the newest MBP, (it's the early 2011) that is one of the best deals on a Mac laptop I've ever seen in my life. I fI had the money, and I didn't have a MBP, I'd get that along with the other million things I want.

Try clicking on the "click here for door crasher deals" link...

That is a good deal, however there are bound to be quite a few people standing in line for them... it says there are 20 per day which isn't really a lot.

Got a blank page.
Anyway, if it's not online then I'm out of luck. I live in MD
If I lived there I would camp too :D
20 MBP a day and you said people hate Apple? Hmm.
If Apple prices their stuffs right, more people will love their products.
I already got mine from Amazon, $1049 shipped.

I got an early 2011 base mbp open box deal at best buy in connecticut for $800 two or three weeks ago in totally new conditiin with lion. it had just been returned after four days. Bb has a 14 day return policy like apple. It had never even been registered. When i registered it i found out it had been shipped by apple to bb in late july so it had its firmware upgraded. The price i paid is $125 UNDER apple's current price for a reconditioned. $559 is a great price but i think my deal is about the lowest one could get that mbp new in the states.

Since it doesnt show up on the website AND doesnt show up when you hit the deal link i actually contacted best buy and was told THERE NEVER WAS SUCH A DEAL ADVERTISED for that store opening. The OP is either fooling or should show us proof. Think about it-- why would apple allow such a discount? They woukdnt. Maybe it was an error thats been removed. But bb says jt was never there in the first place.

its a 13" i5 with a 320GB HD, its not the newest model and not nearly a $1600 machine but its a good deal

http://store.apple.com/us/product/FC700LL/A

same machine for $929.00 so id say its still a steal at $599.00

The difference between tbe early and late 2011 13" mbp is minuscule other than a bigger hd. In fact some reviewer tests ive read show tbe early 2011 to be somewhat faster in certain tests.

Just went to the site again and it does show up now. Weird! And bb customer support said it wasnt true. Strange though that 60 mbp that go for $929 reconditioned at app.e.com would be sold so cheaply. Maybe its the new post-jobs era showing up.

doesnt change my comment, that it never was and never will be a $1600 machine

Thd 13" never was a $1600 machine. Its a 1200 machine early and late. Get your facts right.

Using as a doorbuster to clear out old stock and get people into stores. Only the small minority won't buy a case, or software, or get hooked into the Geek Squad warranty where they make their profit.

Now that Apple is going more mainstream it was a matter of time before they sold below MSRP, and I think we'll be seeing more of it moving forward IMHO.

Right now I wish I was in Kelowna...

I don't need a new MBP, but if I could probably sell my 2009 for about $600 and essentially upgrade for free. :/

Even if you don't need/want a new Mac, buy one and resell it. :D
