It's probably the angle. The actual box actually starts where the clear enclosure ends.

The USB wall plug, Lightning cable and EarPods take up almost 2/3 of the box space in the current iPhone. No surprise here.

Me too. I like that it displays the product versus hiding it. That being said it's a BOX an won't affect my buying decision.
