iPod 5G iPod completely frozen

I just plugged my ipod into my computer and the "Do not disconnect" screen came up but it didnt show up in itunes. and it wont let me do anything. i unlocked it and the little lock in the top left corner stayed there, i cant turn it off. is there a way to reset it? is there something i can do?
