iPod 5g on tv?

I was wondering is the apple cable propietary? I thought maybe i can use the cables i have for my digital camera to get the ipod to play on the tv, but it didnt work.. does it go threw the dock connector or what?

You might have to swap some of the connectors around assuming your cable has standard RCA plugs to 3.5" plug.
