The headphone/audio jack is broken on my iPod, so I'm kinda dead in the water. Obviously, $249 + shipping is a ridiculous price for a replaceable part. And whattaya know, pdasmart.com will fix it for $75 + shipping. But I still think that's way too much -- I'd like to buy the replacement part online somewhere and fix it myself. Does anyone have any leads for me?
Namely, the plastic collar is broken off in one place and cracked in another. And because of its looseness, one of the contacts around the collar has been pushed down and to the side. I just fixed that with some handy-dandy pocket knife skills, so headphones actually work just fine -- but the iTrip only works in ONE position, and that position isn't the one it's designed to work in.
So, if anyone can toss me some suggestions, that would be great! Thanks!
