5ghz band issues after updating to ios7?

so my iphone 5 has no trouble connecting to my 2.4ghz channel but will not connect to 5ghz band. anyone else seen similar issues?

Mine connects but doesn't load any websites or anything unless I am in the same room as the router. This happened on iOS 6 as well so I dont think its a problem with iOS7. 5GHz doesnt penetrate walls as well as 2GHz.


Try going into the same room as your router and connecting from there.

had no problems anywhere in my house before. In fact, my ipad connects everywhere in the house on 5ghz no problem. it's clearly an ios7 issue.

No 5GHz issues here with a iPad 4 on iOS 7.

I can connect fine on a Cisco Router ... I use different IDs for 2 & 5 Ghz range so I can switch manually instead of letting the phone/router decide.
