So I have a dual band router, network and all had been fine, until yesterday when my 5GHz wireless lost signal and all and I kept getting disconnected; at first I thought it was my router failing, so I checked my other computers; they were all getting full signal (well 75%+) and nothing was wrong; I restarted the router and it fixed nothing; everything was still working, just not my Macbook Pro. So I wanted to see if it was network card, so I used my 2.4GHz network; everything was working and I didn't have any disconnects; even in Windows the 5GHz was flaky, but the 2.4GHz had ZERO issues. I've done restarts, PRAM resets, SMC resets (not that any of these should help).

I'm kind of loss at what to do except get it looked at; I think the guys at the store are kind of sick of me... so I'd want to make sure I can fix this myself if possible.

So anyone know if it's possible for the 5GHz radio to go bad and not the 2.4GHz radio?

Nevermind; I just bought an Airport Extreme; no more issues for now.
