Hi everyone,
Currently I'm editing videos on my 2017 dell xps 15 top model, I use adobe premiere pro, it runs pretty smoothly on this machine with gtx 1050, I have no complaint about the performance.
But the screen is small, it is also too saturated and the contrast is very high. the biggest problem is, there is a diagonal line on the screen, where one part refreshes 1 frame earlier than the other part. The screen flashes in fast edits at 60fps, It makes the editing very unpleasant. (2 controller for the 4K screen?)
I wanted to purchase the new 5k iMac, because the screen is so good. Just wondering what the performance will be with the new CPU and CPU for premiere pro comparing with my xps 15? I have used 2015 iMac top model (fusion drive) at university, I have also used 2016 MacBook Pro top model, they are both noticeably slower than my laptop. I edit on a raid 0 portable hard drive. (premiere pro works much better with cuda?)
I edit videos heavily, put a lot of effects on the clips. My partner suggested I should wait for the iMac pro, because the new iMac may not be a significant upgrade in performance?
Just wanted to ask your opinions?
