it does seem so and its the best of both worlds over one machine that has solder on ssd and 16gb ram hard limit
 
If you don't need super-power when mobile then this is a very reasonable approach. Cloud sync with Dropbox etc. is so good now that having multiple computers is no longer the chore it used to be.
