5k riMac picture quality question

Hello everyone, I have a question and concern. Why is it that pictures uploaded to a browser for example look subpar, poor looking.

I know it isn't the picture quality because these same pics are in my iPhoto and they look awesome. But when posted on a forum, its no longer sharp and clear.

Any ideas?

Websites have to specifically tag images to be displayed at hi-dpi (retina) resolutions. Most forums don't do this yet, but I'm sure that with the prevalence of high resolution displays increasing as they are, it won't be long before some do.
