5S - error 17 - perpetual restore loop

So I tried to update to 7.0.1 -- just finished organizing my icons, and the battery dipped below 50% so I plugged in computer and started with iTunes update.
Now I get unknown error 17's and it keeps telling me to restore.
I restarted computer and tried to restore once again. No luck.

What the hell is going on here? This is not good.

Tried talking to Apple.
This is an unknown issue to them so far, they said they would call me back.

I had everything working. Only thing I can think of is that I synced from a jailbreak back up, but it worked fine.
It wasn't until trying to update to 7.0.1 did I get problems.

Now I have NO phone
First excited for the iPhone 5S, now just bitter about this whole mess.

EDIT: FIXED
used tinyumbrella to knock me out of recovery loop as per a user on an australian apple message board's suggestion.
I thought I would have to deal with the idiots in the store, luckily and oddly enough an unlicensed developer's program was the only thing that fixed this issue, and ultimately saved both Apple/ATT, and myself a whole lot of wasted time.

I'm having this same error 17 problem with my 5s and updating to 7.0.2. I didn't sync from a jailbreak backup.

I'm going to try tiny umbrella and will report back.

Did you manage to get the phone updated though?
