5s flash taking forever when taking pictures

Anyone else notice this? When taking pictures with flash, my phone will sometimes wait about 5-7 seconds before finally taking the picture.

this never happened on my 4s, but i know this new flash might have changed this. But should it really be taking this long?

The phone is adjusting the flash based on the amount and temperature of the ambient light, but it shouldn't be 5-7 seconds. More like 3 or 4.

yeah i understand that, but to take longer than 3-4 seconds is just crazy IMO

Agreed. My kids and dogs blink, close their eyes, and turn away.

exactly. Whenever i try to take a picture of people or my dog its just awkward waiting so long lol

I shouldn't have to turn the flash off to take nice pictures when flash is needed. I just was wondering if it was normal to adjust for longer than 3 seconds

Yes very annoying I prefer the 5 flash it was a lot
Faster. I'm waiting seconds just holding my
Phone up waiting for flash to kick in for pic. Feels old fashion and not high tech. Idgaf what the flash is having to adjust to time is money.

This with the safari crashing makes me like my iphone 5 more than my 5S

Maybe you're holding it wrong?

I noticed the same thing the other day...very annoying when you want to get a quick shot of something and need a flash. Oh well, they've gotta keep the real camera makers in business somehow.

It's dual LED flash and is trying to optimize for the best lighting.
