title says it all, 5S screen feels "sticky" even when clean. ie. when swiping with finger feels like the finger sticks. this is in comparison w/ my 4S, which had a screen protector.

anyone else noticing this?

Nope, doesn't seem any noticeably different feeling than my old 3GS or 4S.

well of course it's going to feel different with no screen protector...

presumably the glass screen should be less sticky than the plastic protector i was using before. is my assumption off?

your assumption is off. My iphone 4 with the screen protector was smooth when sliding my finger on it.. especially when I had matte finish protector.

Now with the screen protector completely off it feels less "smooth".

I think different phones may end up with slightly different levels of oleophobic coating, which could affect how sticky or slippery they feel. I bought my original 4S back in 2012 and the screen felt perfectly smooth and slippery (as it should). I had to have it replaced a couple of months ago due to a hardware failure, and the replacement 4S screen definitely feels stickier or grippier. My thumb doesn't glide along it nearly as easily under most conditions. Very annoying.

Take it back. Tell the genii you want one with a not-sticky screen.

The iPhone is not meant to be used in the restrooms.

It might be your skin. I have that happen sometimes right after I wash my hands.

If I let them dry for a few minutes it seems to help.

yea its probably your skin.. put a screen protector on ( a good one not ebay one..) helps for mine.
