So here's a new one. I have a 5th gen iPod Touch where the screen will not come on. I know it's on, I can hear it when I plug it in and iTunes see's the iPod but wants me to click the "Trust this computer" message. I randomly tapped around the screen and I did get it at one point so I know the touch part works.

Now here's the weird part. When the battery dies completely and I plug it in, the screen works and lights up and shows me the low battery charging indication.

Any ideas? I've already tried a known good working screen without any results. The current screen on this iPod works fine on another motherboard.

Cable

The cable connecting the screen could be loose. Try googling up how to fix ipod touch screen. There is some videos on opening up the case and fixing it.
