I have a 5th gen iPod Touch that I bought used and the battery got very warm when I used it, but it did charge. I replaced the battery, but when I plug it in, it does not charge. The battery had about 30% charge when I put it in and the charging indicator did come on, but it did not charge.
I took the battery off and checked the battery connection on the logic board with my digital multimeter and it was only reading .98 volts. This charger and cable do charge my iPhone fine, so I know it is not that.
1) Can the incoming voltage be read properly from the 3 battery pins (battery disconnected) on the logic board?
2) If so, what would cause the voltage to be less than 1 volt? I know wall chargers put out 5 volts, so there is a problem somewhere.
Thank You,
Ian
