Obviously, Apple will release 6.0.1 before or around the time a JB comes out, but if it comes out before, based on past experiences, what are the chances that any exploits people find get destroyed in the update; or would the 0.1 update just be all bug fixes and an overhaul of maps?

Remove the sarcasm and give me an answer that took more than 3 seconds of thought.

The JB devs will likely wait for 6.0.1. As you said, by the time the exploit and jailbreak is ready for the public, Apple will be ready to drop 6.0.1.

That said, unless the jailbreak is released before 6.0.1 is released, there is a 99% chance Apple can't patch it. Apple can't patch what they don't know is coming, so this won't happen unless it's somehow leaked.

That would depend on the exploit used, wouldn't it? If the exploit is using a publicly known hole, it is far more likely that a point-update breaks it than if the exploit wasn't known. Never bet on JB surviving updates.

Probably not an acceptable answer, since it didn't take more than three seconds of thought. Writing the answer took a bit longer, though. ;)

Both your answers were good, but Dawlls' was better :p

So as long as the exploiters keep generally quiet we are in the green?

They've had leaks before, so yes they are quiet, although some hints of progress have been given…

Just sit tight, eventually a JB will be out.
