My brand new macbook pro has arrived with 6 battery cycles count. Is this normal? It really bothers me when others are saying 1 or 2 on their new rMBP.

I bought two MBPs this past summer.

The 2015 15" MBP had one cycle
The 2012 13" MBP had zero.

The first 2015 MBP I bought had three. I exchanged it after a month for the higher capacity SSD.

It just means it was run through a few tests before being used, nothing to worry about they can come with anything from 0-6 cycles that I have seen, yours is just higher than most.

I didn't even check my 2015 rMBP when I bought. I don't think it matters. I just plug my laptop in and charge it when I can, and run it off of the battery when I need to.
