I love the 6 plus camera. You can finally walk and snap pictures at the same time. If you tried doing this with the 5 or 5s, it would come out blurry unless you hold your phone steady. Huge improvement! Especially when you are in the middle of the street in a crowded city and you want to take a quick snap, no program it still comes out to be a great picture on the 6 plus!

Unless you trip over something and fall on your face while walking and snapping :p
 
Or unless your lens is all scratched up from being protruded. :p

nah, easily fixed by putting it in a case :p

Besides, there is a technical reason why it protrudes. To stop lights and shadows from interfering with the sensor. Remember the purple haze of the iphone 5 camera?
 
Sapphire glass is very strong. It has been used on watches (I owned a lot of watches with Sapphire glass) in a long time. You can only scratch it with diamond. You can shatter it though.
