First time I've ever sat in the sun whilst on M4 MBA (sat in the living room with the sun behind me etc)

Notice that there's dust behind the screen; tried to give it a wipe and obviously and it's not for clearing; see pics below:

It's under full warranty with it being so new but also under AppleCare+ - so I'll be in touch with them tomorrow as we're heading out now; but has anyone else come across this issue?

Cheers

Are you sure it is dust and not the anti reflective coating breaking down? Though I'm not sure if they are still using that.

This is going back to Apple for them to sort; they're clueless just by looking at the pictures I sent them, so hopefully it'll be back to them tomorrow or Saturday/Monday next week at the latest

I've received the shipping box etc

Honestly this is just water or liquid splashed and dried onto the anti reflective screen.

I don't read that you tried to clean the screen? You need a good cleaning solution or 70% rubbing alcohol and a new microfiber cloth.

It is the ar coating that you are seeing. Most likely somehow some liquid got in contact with the screen at time of manufacturering. If you clean the screen and you still see the marks then I would go to Apple store.

Good luck!

Believe me I’ve tried to clean the screen… The marks are not on the surface.

This is why it’s going back to Apple tomorrow via UPS
