6+ with Lifeproof and HDMI

I have the 6+ and was so happy when I got my lifeproof after a long long wait. Then last week I got a new Acura ILX, and to hookup the phone to the car I must use the apple HDMI adapter. (note not car play). I was shocked to find out that the apple brand OEM part wont work with the lifeproof. so I jumped on amazon and found 1 extender to let it work however that only lasted like 5 days before breaking.
Has anyone found a good fix to allow both Lifeproof and HDMI?

if not are there any other good cases that are water proof and allow the use of the HDMI cable ?
