Hey guys,

could someone tell me what size of a SSD would be sufficient for use with just OS and apps. I'd like to leave enough space to allow the drive to run at its best. Its between 60 GB and 115 GB.

thanks

It really depends on the apps. If you're not a gamer, I'd say yes, it should be more than sufficient. You can always migrate a few rarely used apps to the HDD if space gets tight.

If you don't have a lot of music/video taking up drive space, you can easily fit the OS and apps on there. Just for comparison, I have a HDD in my iMac that has 58GB of data on it. I have of course the OS as well as iWorks and several other apps. I also have 7GB of photos and 17GB of music as well as a Documents folder of 1GB. So you can see that if you don't have a bunch of music and photos it will easily fit.

As others have said, depends entirely on what apps you are going to install. I have a server running Windows 2008R2 and its installed on a 30GB SSD, no apps, and I have 9GB to spare.
