I take photos in AF mode in low light, is this normal with this camera before I return this to B & H? its an annoying sound. if this is normal can anyone explain the reasoning? thank you

It's normal. It uses that bit of flash to help focus. In low light, there isn't sufficient contrast for the camera to focus. My guess would be that the sound is the flash charging and discharging really quickly.

The best advice would be to get a decent external flash (speedlite). You will be able to tell a world of difference between the pop-up and an external. Plus, most external flashes have an autofocus assist beam that helps the camera focus without pulsing the flash like that.

Thanks for the detailed response. I am such a noob at thi
