I apologize for the dumb question but I'm just confused!

I have a 30fps timeline in Final Cut Pro 6. If I drop a 60fps clip onto that timeline, will it be playing at a true 30P (making the clip appear to slow motion)? The reason I ask is, I plan on shooting a music video at 60fps & want the final product to be in slow motion.

I'm starting to think FCP would just play the 60fps clip at 30fps but cutting out half the frames & thus making it choppy. But I hope I'm wrong.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

if I remember right, and it's like it is in Premier, you create your time line in 30 frames/second, but make it twice as long as the project time that you intend to end up with meaning if you want to end up with 5:00 worth of footage, make your project 10:00. I do that because when you slow your footage down in half from 60fps to 30fps, the footage gets twice as long, that's purely a personal pref.

Thanks guy! I think I'll try the Cinema Tools method. I appreciate it.
