I don't have any weight machines at home or anything, and apart from running till I'm dead, what can I do to run faster w/o the use of any machines? Like some normal exercises I can do at home or anything?

Do you run at one pace? Or start fast and then gradually slow down?

Try running intervals where you run at a slightly slower pace, then speed up for a couple of minutes, slow down for a couple of minutes and speed up again (and repeat)

I'm trying to get in shape for Soccer and sports in school, but I haven't actually ran in ~2 months. I'm thinking of running just endurance because I can run decent speed right now, but I can't hold that speed for a decent time.

suicide sprints or ladder runs may be good too

suicide sprints are when you have to touch a series of lines, run back, go a lil further, run back, etc

ladder runs are on a ftball field where you follow the yard lines and go in a ladder pattern

1. Buy a ticket to Spain in July and travel to Pamplona by July 6th.

2. Run.

Running up hills, swimming laps, anything to build endurance helps a lot.

Even just try alternating between jogging and then building up to a sprint and holding it and then relaxing back to a jog is a good way to build endurance.

Static exercises will only do so much good - eg: Doing squats, etc, is only going to help to a certain extent. Like he said a few posts up: Plyometrics are good; Also, vary your workout to avoid the muscle memory of doing the same thing over and over. And then, of course, just get out there are run like hell... Practice practice.

I'm a fan of 40/20's: warm up, then do 12-15 cycles of 40 second sprints, followed by 20 seconds jogging. Sprints will get you moving, the jog between will keep you going but give you a break to cool off. Do it at least a few times a week, but make sure to give yourself resting time between workouts. They will get easier, and as they do, cut your jog time down to 15, then 10. You should be able to keep a pretty decent pace (non-sprint) and it will feel like a breeze...

Run with weights on your ankles. Go buy some 2 or 3 pound weights made for it (they are typically Velcro-strapped) . Seriously, it helps. You'll feel the burn.

1) jogging - do this for 3 months then.....
2) jogging with weights on your legs / hips - do this for 3 months then....
3) Sprints

I can run a quick (its not that quick) mile but after that i am mediocre at best. I don't like to run but it gives me the best workout. I am horrible at endurance though so i've been working on that. Recently it looks like:

Day 1: 30 min jog (it eventually turns into a trudge)
Day 2: 15 min jog
Day 3: Run mile as fast as possible
Day 4: off
repeat

i do other stuff besides that at the gym but that is the general idea of what im doing as far as running/jogging. I've seen my mile time go down a bit, and my endurance has gotten slightly better, but I have good and bad days. I have been dieting so my energy levels might be lower than they normally would be.

the only other option would have to be the pitbull suggestion.
