Hey guys,

Not sure if I should be posting this question in this forum but I thought I would go ahead and post it to see what type of answers you guys come up with. My symantec comes up with the following error periodically:

62452.emlx is infected.

So my first question is what type of file is this? Is this an actual file and where is it located? From the little bit of research I come up with it's an email related file but I'm not sure what it does and why it's coming up as a virus.

So after my first 'extended' questions, is this a virus and if so, does it affect MACs? The symantec program cleans it up supposidly but should I be worried? Is it possible to transfer the virus from my MAC to my PC at work - I regularly use my flash drive between the 2 computers.

Thanks in advance and sorry if it's in the wrong section.

Thanks

do a google search on the 52452.emix and see what you get.
it seems to be related to some porn.
I would never put symantec on any of my Macs - it's a pig and gives false positives.
however the .emix you mention could be something for windows..

The .emix file is an email. Some commercial emails can be flagged as a virus. It is located in your ~/Library/Mail file.
