Thanks for tips on my new/old Performa 6290 a few months back.
I have an old program that works great on old 68030 Mac Plus or Performa 100s with system 7. But when I load it into the powerpc perforrma 6290 that I recently bought, the program begins to install and then I get this message .. ""switch monitor to 2 colors or 2 grays"
I see that the Performa can be set for 16 grays and that's as low as it goes.
Any of you know if there's a workaround to that type of message? I actually have my old 21" NEC Multisync connected to the stock 6290 with one of those little dipswitch db15 to vga adaptors and it works great.
I'm not real up on the old Macs so am not sure if this type of message is due to the program being from the older 68030 days, or if I need to load system 7 on this Mac instead of 9 or whatever is on it now ... or if it somehow sees the display ... or whatever ... any tips on this or workarounds?
Otherwise, guess I'm stuck with this one program on the old old hardware.
