carrier name appeared top centre of home screen

Is it just me or has my carrier's name suddenly appeared at the top of the homescreen (o2 in my case) underneath the top bar taking up a whole line to itself above the app icons and centred?

It used to only be top left in the top bar next to the coverage.
Has anyone else noticed this or has it always been there?

I restarted and it disappeared. Odd. Oh well.

I had this too today. O2 appeared top center of home screen. Wierd.
