Finder keeps refreshing all windows

About every minute or two, Finder refreshes all it's windows, and bring them all to the front. It also resets whatever I'm trying to do with finder as well.
If I close all the windows, they all open again in their original arrangement.

I've tried restarting.

Did you update to the latset quicktime (7.6) update recently?

Do you have Stuffit AVR System Preference?

If so it might be worth reading this as it seems you are not alone.

To anyone who found this post and is experiencing the same problem, the solution is:

  1. Search for "Stuffit AVR" in finder
  2. Open "Stuffit AVR"
  3. Click [Stop]

Glad it worked, it seems to have been causing lots of problems for many people and some people have gone to extreme lengths to solve it. Good it was a simple fix. :)

After doing some updates today, I had the same problem of finder "re-starting" every couple of minutes, and this solution worked for me too.

for those who can't find stuffit AVR... it's in the System Preferences, on the bottom row.
 
why would stuffit would do that? What does it cause that behavior? I had the problem and the "hit stop" fix worked"
For a moment I thought I had a virus or something.
