I had a very strange issue with my Mac Pro 6 core. The new Mac Pros now default to 64 bit mode out of the box. Some of my music software, including Cubase, Universal Audio UAD-2 and TC Powercore, do not yet support 64 bit.

When I switched to 32 bit mode, I was riddled with all sorts of start up problems including blank or grayed out screens, unresponsive clicks from either trackball or keyboard. The odd thing is that using Screen sharing from my Laptop to the Mac Pro, the desktop looked fine and everything worked.

The problem is that some of the software doesn't install properly under 64 bit mode, if you need to run it in 32 bit mode.

ALSO the MAIN issues for the screen problems turned out to be the Syncrosoft license software that Cubase uses for authentication of the software. Once I reinstalled that in 32 bit mode, I was OK, however, many of the applications had to be reinstalled again while running 32 bit mode for them to work properly.
